Ill play along~

Theyre both equally terrible with patients and co-workers. But if dr Cox had the types of cases that House had, he probably wouldnt be able to solve any of them.

Dr. House

Dr. House

Neither would House as he would be in prison or without a medical license by the end of the first season haha.

Oh yeah u wanna duel about it?

House is an unrealistic character. A Dr.Cox like person could very well exist.

Haha, yes. But he would still be capable of solving the case.

Which, if we're bringing the world of television to reality btw, brings me to my point that dr. Cox's constant ****ttiness is actually much worse than house.

Id rather work for someone who's more of a disrespectful recluse than a guy who gets in my face and goes on minute long insult rants everytime i even approach him. (Yes i know he has a heart of gold, i love scrubs. But if we're looking at what's on the inside, then so does house)

So, house is much more "personally bearable" and able to solve the unsolvable.
The only thing i see going for Dr Cox here (again reminder, i ****ing LOVE scrubs) is realism. Which, btw, if thats what we're going for why not just choose the really good doctor that you once shadowed?

I used to be a avid House-watcher, but Cox would still wipe the floor with him.

I'm only going to tell you this only once.... You better hold your tongue if you ever speak that filth again!!!!

dr. cox is my fav character of any tv show with scrubs being my favorite show of all time (I've seen every episode 7+ times lol). House is in my top 5 shows, they're both funny as hell. Dr.Cox is still my favorite character, but House gives a close #2, Hugh Laurie's acting as house is unparalleled, his role is one of my favorites on an acting level.

Both are funny as hell!

I vote for Ben Casey... I haven't seen Dr. Cox, so I can't comment on her. I've watched a bunch of House on Netflix...the show is very entertaining and get's my "thumbs up." But Dr. House is a very flawed character and a lousy model for our profession. And I'm not just talking about his being an opiate addict. The back-story of the show has him addicted to opiates because of some leg injury...OK, I get that and understand the premise. My main problem with the character is that he really seems to fit the DSM criteria for both Antisocial and Narcissistic Peronality Disorders.

The producers of this show don't seem to really care about his severe Axis II problems. They seem to be holding his character out as a fine example of the medical profession. God help us.

cox , easily. Deep down, cox actually cares immensely for the patient...there are probably real IM attendings exactly like him.

Dr. Pepper...and oh!...Dr. Cocks.

Kinda surprised by all the House hate in here.

House all the way. A little surprised about how close this is. Love Dr. Cox ,but House loves drugs and hookers. How do you not vote for that?

Dr. Greene, Dr. Carter, and Dr. Benton

All the way dude. I've been bored post graduation so I've been rewatching ER from the beginning. I've made it season 8 so far. It's been like 8 full days of ER.

Cox all the way. He's a realistic character. House is purely fictional and an idiot. Instead of just treating the patient, he must spend 30 minutes ordering bull**** treatment so that the patient is brought close to the edge of death for drama.

Have you ever actually watched House MD? He doesn't routinely order tests to nearly kill his patiens.

thats because house diagnose atypical presentations of diseases or diseases you hardly see. or also in cases where there isn't enough time to run tests. that is one of the reasons he needs assistance from 3 or 4 other highly qualified specialists.
i can bet you will never find a house case where the patient presents with signs of meningitis, and they do an LP, confirm it to be bacterial and give ceftriaxone and boom the patient is healthy.

Dr. Cox, no question. The way Scrubs was written, I got a good sense of why Dr. Cox is an ***hole and began to sympathize with him. No matter how many episodes of House I watch, I still just think he's an ***hole.

I stop watching House after shadowing a certain doctor. We were eating lunch in the lounge when House came on. After the first diagnosis, the doctor was all "nope it's Y not X." He then left to run some errands, came back and the episode ended with House saying something like "We got it all wrong, it's Y."

And that was when I last watched House.

How House just can remember an experience with any random disease in a number of different specialties just makes his show way too predictable.

Cox is hilarious and a lot more realistic.

I think House's personality is totally realistic, especially among jaded doctors, which there seems to be a lot of nowadays. 😛
