Has anyone who attends USC ever had any contact in the classroom or the clinics with Dr. Drew Pinksy, a psychiatrist formerly on the television show "Loveline" and now a new show on the Discovery Health network: :"Strictly Sex")? What is it like? He seems like a pretty good educator. I just saw him on MSNBC doing an interview regarding the Tom Cruise comments on psychiatry and how antidepressants do not work.

What did he say about Cruise and his claims? Is there a transcript available?

It was on MSNBC, not CNBC. I don't know if there was a transcript. He basically said, "He's an idiot." As he was introduced, Keith Olberman said that Dr. Drew Pinsky was an attending physician at USC.

I don't know if Dr. Drew teaches or not. I know he still has his clinical practice (IM) during the day and he also works at the big addiction treatment center in Pasadena, CA (forget the name). He hasn't mentioned teaching on "Loveline" (my boyfriend and listen EVERY night. We've been fans since the 90's), but that doesn't mean he isn't doing it. I haven't caught his show yet, though I would like to. He's awesome. I agree that he would be an excellent teacher!
