Is Freud's dream theory similar to the activation synthesis theory?
Kaplans book says for AS theory " dreams are caused by random activation of neural circuity. This activation can mimic incoming sensory info, and may also consist of pieces of stored memories, current and previous desires, met and unmet needs--"
While KA
"that suggest that dreams are simply a part of our brain, the frontal part of the cerebral cortex, that more generalized thinking part of our brain, trying to make sense of these electrical impulses in the brain stem. So the dream may not have any prominent meaning"
vs Frueds- "Dreams have meaning and understand unconscious feelings"
