This program has just been created recently and I was wondering if anyone has gone through with this program or has anything to say about it. I read that if you do well in the "hard science" courses then it will permit you to be considered for their graduate programs. I might be looking to do this IHS and continue onto their MSP and then IMS to boost up my GPA and get into medical school. So is it worth the money and time to even consider this IHS program?

thanks

i too just got last minute acceptance to this program and was considering attending. I've searched the forums, but ive been unsuccessful in finding much info about it. I've already planned to attend VCU's post bac program in human genetics, however was considering this program last minute. Any more info from others would b greatly appreciated.

thanks,
B

I've been through it. PM me and I'll tell you all about it.

I got accepted for this fall too but I withdrew my acceptance. I, personally, would prefer vcu's program because IHS is not necessarily geared to help people get into medical school but, instead, introduce students to other health careers. The classes are graduate courses and the IHS class size is around 30 students, I believe. The website does mention that students with a strong performances in the hard sciences could move on into msp or ims though. I spoke with the program director and she has told me that some past students have gotten accepted into msp and into schools in the carribean.

But if you want to boost up your gpa, why not take more undergraduate courses at your local university?

Just my two cents.
