I'm thinking of applying to Drexel's postbac program, but my GPA is definitely a problem. I have a 2.9 cum and a 2.9 BCPM. I know that Drexel's programs are very competative, so my question is which program would I be better suited for? If anyone can help me out, it'll be much appreciated.

I don't know about the gpa cutoffs. The MCAT cutoff for the ISP program is 27, so if you don't have that I would apply for the MSP program. I just applied to MSP because I have a low MCAT. Hopefully I will hear something soon (just mailed it yesterday). Anyway, I guess what you're asking all depends on your MCAT. They have study for the MCAT incorporated into the MSP program, so I know that will be a big help. Good luck! :luck:

I just sent in my application for the MSP program, too. I have a good GPA but a low MCAT score. I am not sure if they have a GPA cut off? But, I do not know how much you can increase your GPA at Drexel b/c most of the courses you would be taking for MSP are Graduate level.
just my 2 cents. 🙂

DrSumdae,
Do you know when we should expect to hear something? I think we are early in the process so that is good. Maybe we'll be future classmates! Good luck to you. :luck: 🙂

hey guys,

I sent them a request last week to send me more information, but I never received it. Did you guys just print the application from the internet and then send it or did you wait for them to send you something in the mail?

THanks

I just printed the one online, filled it in, and mailed it. You may want to call them if you want a hard copy. They are very friendly on the phone. But I don't see anything wrong with printing the online one. If anything, you can mail it in sooner, which would be an advantage. Good luck.:luck:

i have another question
when they ask to do the science gpa.
They tell you to use 0.3 if you receive a +.
The school that I went to you would add 0.5 if you received a +
also when I did the aamcas I would be able to give myself that extra .2.
What should I do on the application?

Thanks

I just printed the application from the website. As far as the GPA, I would stick with their directions - they need to have numbers that are comparable with all applicants. They are very nice on the phone, but they do not always respond to your questions right away - I have waited 2 or 3 weeks for answers! Good luck with you app! :luck:

On the application they say:
when calculating gpa they follow Amcas guidelines.
My school does not use the "five or more passing grades", but rather the second type (half step).

I feel as if it would be a disservice to cut my self short.
What would you do?

Thanks
ill probably give them a call tomorrow.

Ohhh, I see what you mean. I would definately call them to see what they say. Do you already have a verified AMCAS application? :luck:
