I was wondering what you guys thought about sending them (drexel msp) a letter of interest. I had my interview last friday and it seemed to go pretty well (I only have my interpretation of the interview and since it was a phone interview and you can't see the other person's facial reactions or body language, who knows how it really went 😕 )

I saw PegasisGMS and WISC-ite post their stats and I don't have 3.0 science gpa, or even 3.0 overall gpa. I'm beginning to wonder now if I even have a chance, I mean I know that they wouldn't have interviewed me if they didn't see something they liked in my application (I have some pretty solid EC's) but because I applied and interviewed so late, I think I am pretty far down thier list of people to accept. Also, since WISC-ite mentioned that we should demonstrate enthusiam and interest in the program, I thought that sending a letter of interest might let them know how much I really really want to get into the program (not sure if I expressed that enough in the interview???). I think because I am from California and the fact that I demonstrate willingness to relocate across the country and be away from my family (and endure harsh environments 😛 --cold weather here is 60 deg F) will show them how serious I really am.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated 🙂

I wouldn't use PegasisGMS and Wisc-ite as examples of the typical Drexel MSP applicant. They were actually quite extraordinary in their own right. I had less than a 3.0 science when I applied to the MSP program. My overall was exactly 3.0 but my science was considerably lower. However, my work and research experience were outrageous. I think each applicant brings something to the table and sometimes one can compensate for the other. Oh and send them a letter and let them know you are really, really interested in their program (Oh and send it soon so they don't get it after they make a decision on you). It couldn't hurt right.

I just noticed you asked this same questions in the Drexel MSP thread. Oh well I answered it here.
