Drexel pre-interview hold??

Just got an e-mail about being on pre-interview hold at Drexel. I haven't heard of anyone else (on SDN) with this status, so I'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who got that e-mail? Or if anyone knows what the hold at Drexel is like (ie. is it a "we're gonna reject you later" letter?). Thanks in advance!!!

I don't have anything of worth to contribute but other than that Drexel was intimidated by your MCAT score.

Yeah, I doubt they put me on hold because they thought I was too qualified, haha, seeing as I've been rejected from worse schools. Just wondering what "HOLD" from them means. I'm seeing a lot of that lately....

I also received the Drexel pre-interview hold e-mail on 12-5:

"Your application to Drexel University College of Medicine for the 2006 entering class is complete and has been reviewed by a member of the admissions committee. Your application is currently on hold, and will be reviewed again later this year for a possible interview. Should you be selected for an interview, you will receive notification via regular mail."

This is the first I've heard about the hold. I've been complete since late August and haven't heard from them at all so I assumed that they didn't do the "hold" thing.

Hmm. I am complete at Drexel and didn't get that email. I guess my rejection letter is on the way.

But are they even sending out rejections? My feeling is that the hold is for all of us that they're going to reject.... Cause why else would they send it, if they really are keeping us on hold? There are so many people like you guys who haven't heard anything, so I feel like it's you all who are "on hold and in the running" and I'm just being told that 🙂 Or maybe it's cause I kept calling about my status, haha.

Hi all, I emailed Drexel a few weeks ago and they wrote back on november 30 saying that my file had been reviewed and I am on hold. It makes me wonder if they would have sent that email to me if I hadn't asked. They have been pretty sketchy with the communications. I never got a complete letter, and had to email them about that status too.

But I hear they're booked through march?!?! Does that mean they won't have any spots left for the "hold" people?

That's Roxie! She's my baby dalmatian mix! Well, she's going on 2 years at the end of the month, but she's still my baby! We're both hoping for good holiday gifts from the adcoms this year!

I think they HAVE sent out rejections. Are you all late applicants who got the hold? Maybe they're jsut seeing if anyone is better than once they weed out they'll go through the holds and decide who they want to interview. 😛 It was a really confusing letter.
