There was a post somewhere on this forum not too long ago that mentioned all of the forthcoming pharmacy school openings. Drexel was listed as one of the schools that was starting up in 2010. Whether or not that's still the plan, I couldn't tell you. But Philadelphia needs another pharmacy school about as bad as they need T.O. back.

Some people are so desperate for a PharmD, they won't have a problem filling the seats ... even if it was at 100k/yr. in tuition.

It's not really $100,000 a year. It's $42,000, which is cheaper then University of New England School of Pharmacy if I remember correctly. I really hope that Drexel is opening a new school because I would love to be the first class if I don't get into Thomas Jefferson or the other schools in major cities I plan applying to.

Sorry, I wasn't saying Drexel is going to be 100k/yr. I was merely saying some people would attend a pharmacy school, even at a price tag of 100k/yr.

Is that $42K a year for a four year school? If so, my school at $40K a year for three years is starting to look like a deal and I never thought I'd say that.

As long as there are loans for them, hell yeah... People pay $350,000 for a Psychology Ph.D so they can make $50,000 a year and pay back their loans for the rest of their lives.

Ha if 100k/year school was the only one that accepted me, I would attend. I would just never leave my room and study all day to make sure I'm not a million dollars in debt for nothing.

Dang, if the only pharm. school i get into charged 100k/year, I probably would not go there, despite my profound interest in pharmacy. Personally, I would get a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or pharmacology to satisfy my interest in the field.

You might not want to eat either. After basic living expenses + books + additional tuition fees + the interest on the private loans (which most of your loan will be if the tuition was 100k/yr), you may very well be a millionar dollar in debt. :d

Hi,

Since I don't live in Philly, I'm curious to know why the city needs another pharm. school? Temple, Jefferson, and University of Sciences all have pharm. programs and adding Drexel will make it four. Los Angeles Metro is much larger and only has three schools (USC, Western, Loma Linda). Nevertheless, Drexel is a good school and I'm sure their PharmD program will be good as well.

I think it was a joke because we don't need TO back either.
