Hello all,

I have dropped 2 courses already that will appear on my transcript, Calc 3 and organic chem, both of which I dropped as I moved out of engineering and into international studies and had no idea I would be pursuing medicine. I will be taking orgo next semester, but am worried about dropping a paleobio class this semester as I have no explanation for doing so other than I think the material is boring as **** and I'm not doing thegreatest. I would likely get a B in the class, but as my sGPA is a fragile 3.1 that I'm looking to raise next semester before applying I really don't want the B. Will this look bad if I drop the class, and if I did drop it would the fact that I just found I was not getting much out of the class be a sufficient excuse?

Thanks!

Sufficient or not, I think it's an excuse that begs the interviewer to ask you "what if you don't like xyz class in medical school?" and I don't think you want to be in that position.

I have a W and AF (attendance fail) on my transcript and neither has come up at an interview. I think you'll be fine.
