I got accepted to my in-state school and am planning on attending. I am taking a biochemistry course with a lab but the school I am attending doesn't require the lab. Will dropping the lab affect my application? I am still taking the required prerequisite and meeting the credits. I am just wondering if it looks bad if I planned to take the course on my application and fill in the lab under the section under the school's prerequisite but not taking it. Also, should I email the school if I do?

in most cases this wouldn’t be a problem, but emailing to confirm would be a good idea

I would reach out to the school and ask them if it would affect your admission status if you dropped the lab since they don't require it. They should be able to tell you directly "No we want you take it 100%" or "You can drop it, it will not affect your status". Maybe tell them you are also excited to attend the program and know 100% you want to go there so if they don't need it, you wont take it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but it makes me nervous doing it because I really don't want it to hurt me in any way
Emailing and asking about dropping a course is not going to cause them to rescind your acceptance.
