A coah drowned in his swimming pool here. Young. No evidence of MI. Not drunk.

How does that happen?

Suicide?

How could someone suck in enough water like that?

Are their mitigating circumstances that would make it more likely- heat exhaustion/sweating leading to electrolyte disturbances, making a little inhaled water more likely to cause cardiac arrest.

None. They just need to not be able to oxygenate. I suppose in theory that everyone that dies aspirates at least some water, you don't actually have to do so to asphyxiate.

As far as the real question, it is different in everyone based on underlying pulmonary disease, lung volume, surfactant genetics, and likely what day of the week it is.
