Hello everyone.
I am thinking about applying for doctoral studies. I have a MEd and an MPH. I would like to be in a doctoral program that will both prepare me for research and for a healthcare leadership role in practice (that is a program that will focus on both research AND practice).

I was thinking about either a DrPH in Heath Policy and Management or PhD in Heath Care Management from the University of Texas School of Public Health.

Can anyone give me some insight on UT Health's programs stated above and along with other programs/schools if possible?

Thanks!🙂

It may not be that some people don't want to respond, but that they don't know enough to give you a good response.

I don't know about specific DrPH programs around the country, nor about UT's specifically. But if you want to look at doing both practice and research, the DrPH fits that picture. The DrPH is certainly a great degree to have, but you may want to ask around to make sure it's a well recognized degree. As in, a PhD is universally recognized, and I think a DrPH may be more new. I think you should ask some faculty near your local public health school to see what they think as well.
