Drug Screen Negative-Dilute Result

Hello,

I recently received the results of my drug screen as being negative-dilute. Wondering if I have to retake? Anyone have experience? To be clear, I genuinely did just drink too much water. I don't do drugs and I wasn't trying to fool anyone. I just drink a lot of water since I am trying to lose weight and exercising a lot.

You will almost certainly have to retake it, but it really doesn't look good to have a dilute sample. The assumption is going to be that it was done on purpose or tampered with.

For most of the non-governmental entities, they will likely give you another chance. Usually addressed this in their HR policy.
Just think through the hiring process: departmental workers and leadership team went through tons of troubles to find the candidate they like, they would not just ditch you just like that. This serve them no benefit. Thus, HR may inform the director the result, and likely to suggest giving you another chance.
Just don't drink too much water before the test this time. It does make you suspicious.

I had something similar with just my routine blood tests (not a drug screen) but was told if it was an actual drug screen it would be considered a fail - that surprised me as I just drink a lot of water - and right before the annual test I always chug a big glass of water - I hate to have to do a pee test and not be able to
