I have been recently hired as a staff pharmacist position and was told to do drug screening as all jobs requires. I went for a drug screen, three days later, I was told that my urine is too diluted. I usually drink a lot of water (no health issues). Now my hiring company is debating whether to hire me or not. I am concern as well since this is my first time with result of my sample being too diluted. I have had multiple drug screen before and had no problem. I dont have any health conditions nor do I take any medications, I am very very very concern that even after explaining that I just drink a lot of water, I hope I dont lose my position.

If anyone has faced this consequence, please help!

Thank you

(If I were the hiring manager, I would be more concerned about your communication skills.)

But anyway, it's doubtful that a bad test alone would be a problem (it's actually an illegal reason in most states and it definitely is for the Fed). However, combined with other matters, they are never going to say that it was the sole reason, but you did not give them any additional reasons to trust you. That said, you're a pharmacist, you should know about how these tests work, so you know what to avoid next time.
