I have been having trouble falling asleep lately (probably due to stress, anxiety anticipation etc.) which leads to more awkward sleep schedule.

Are there any effective over the counter drug to make you fall asleep easier?

Thanks.

Edit: Of course, no drug is always the best drug, but this is temporary so I can get my sleeping schedule back in check.

mods won't tolerate asking for med advice here, so this will be locked up quickly. However, the key to gaining a good routing is to force yourself to get up at a decent time and get some good exercise during the day. Sooner than you know it, you'll be going to sleep fairly early at night without meds.

I think if there were an OTC sleep aid that was both SAFE and PROVEN, everyone would know about it.

Whatever you do, don't hire a doctor to give you IV injections of diprivan...

I second exercise. Best thing in the world for good sleep.
Also, good sleep hygiene - check this site out..

Some of the pediatricians I work with recommend melatonin tablets to help get on a regular sleeping schedule.
