Hi, I'm a DPT applicant for this year. I applied to Duke's program and have been receiving updates regarding my application, which has been great! However, I was wondering if any of you have received invites for interviews at Duke yet? I'm not sure how their interview/acceptance timeline works and I just wanted to get an idea. Thanks!

They are doing about 8 interview dates. The first was in December and the last is in I think April. I interviewed Jan. 11th and was accepted last week. (I submitted my application about a week before the Nov. 2nd deadline) I have about 2 weeks to give them a decision. I'm guessing they are waiting until the hear from that round of acceptances to send out more interview invites. They received ~450 applicants and Anita said they were still getting more in as of Jan. 11th and PTCAS was taking longer to get them the applications. I'm also assuming that people are applying to more schools, so there will be more turnover on waiting lists.

Thanks for the reply and congratulations on the acceptance! I sent in my application mid-November so I guess I would be among the second round of interview invites if I get invited? I had no idea they were interviewing until April, wow! Thanks again and good luck with your decision! 😀

I haven't heard anything from them, other than that they received my application back in late Oct/early Nov.

Oh well. I have two awesome schools to pick from in Chicago, which is much easier since I'm from here and won't have to move very far...although it'd be nice to get warmer weather and a division I team...

LOL! I'm from CA so it would actually be a move to a colder climate for me, haha. However, I think that experiencing something new and seeing more of the US (and of course, going to a great school), makes the move worthwhile. Lizarde, if you don't mind me asking, what was the interview format like and how was your overall impression of the school? I'm sitting in a pool of suspense/excitement right now waiting for some news. 🙂

The actual interview was pretty relaxed. I asked a lot of questions so the faculty interviewer did at least 50% of the talking. The questions were the usual, why do I want to be a PT and what would you bring to the program... nothing tricky. I really liked the program with the exception that all of the clinicals are grouped together in the last year, but I think I can get over that.

Hey I interviewed at Duke on the 25th. The place and program sucks. don't go there.
