Duke has sent an e-mail directing me to their secondary although all my designated schools but Duke have transmittal dates. Is this happening to anyone else?

Here it goes:

___________________________________

Greetings DoctorPerez,

We have received your application from the American Medical CollegeApplication Service and are pleased to invite you to fill out our supplemental application.

Because of the delays to the opening of AMCAS application processing, Duke
University School of Medicine has suspended its preliminary application
screen. This means that all applicants who have indicated Duke University
on their AMCAS designation list will be offered the opportunity to submit
a Duke supplemental application.

Please bear in mind, however, that absent unusual circumstances, those
applications with an overall (cumulative) gpa < 3.2 are not favorably
reviewed. Please take this into consideration when deciding whether to
proceed further with completion and submission of the Duke Supplemental
application.

You can begin your supplemental by visiting
https://www1.applyyourself.com/aylogin.cfm?id=DUKEMED (you may need to
copy and paste this link into your web browser)

At any time during the application process you can check the status of
your application by visiting the DukeMed Interactive website, http://www.dukemed.duke.edu, and logging into the Account Login Section.
You will need to supply the e-mail address on file with AMCAS in order to
log in. Your password is your AAMC Identification Number.

Please complete and submit the supplemental application within two weeks
of this e-mail notification. Your recommendations must be submitted to us
by December 1, 2001 (note that the application will not be processed until
all letters of recommendation and application fees have been received).
This will greatly facilitate the screening of your application for
interview and will give you the best chance for scheduling early in the
process.

Thank you for your interest in the Duke University School of Medicine.

I got that email today and so did a friend of mine. I find that kind of odd considering that my application has not yet been processed and my grades are still not verified.

doctorperez, are u Mexican-American? after looking at some published data from AAMC, I decided not to apply to Duke. for three straight years, Duke did not enroll any Mexican-Americans into thier class. the data was for a couple years back, however.

doctorperez,

I read some of your other posts on the SDN and you indicated that you were taking the August MCAT. If so, how are you being reviewed by schools already? I thought most of them waited for your new scores to arrive.

ooops. never mind. i didn't notice that they weren't screening this year.

woof!

Thank God I just finished submitting it...

Another one bites the dust! 😉 !
