Duke all the way, way better med school. Check the two different ranking systems to compare. Weather way better than you think. Awesome place to go to school and you don't have to worry about crime. I loved in North Carolina and near New Haven CT where Yale resides. Hands down, Raleigh-Durham area is the most fun to live!

Figure out if Duke has internal rankings...the students will be able to tell you. If they don't, then it seems like Duke is the easy choice for you. If not, I'd still say Duke because Yale is only pass/fail for preclinical courses. They have the traditional 4-tier grading system for clinical years (unless something has changed very recently and isn't reflected in MSAR).

You've made it to the top! & your pros and cons for either don't seem that powerful in terms of things you really don't like or really like.
"Somewhere new" for Duke is gonna be 4 walls of library, especially with that condensed preclinical. Do you thrive under pressure and structure or when you're chillin and going with the flow of things at high stakes?

I would say that it seems like Yale students motivate one another so the lack of structure ends up not being killer. Clinicals are P/F at Yale now, but were "the majority gets honors" beforehand so not a huge change.

I am leaning Yale for you! Don't underestimate the power of less stress and more flexibility.

Bias: I personally would not want to be in Durham although Duke is a dope program.

Abortion will be legal in CT and most likely illegal in NC if that is a factor or consideration for you.
