I am finishing 2nd year pharmD, barely, and was told 3rd year is even worst. Never considered anything other than Pharm. What are other career paths, where I can use the credits from the PharmD program.

Will take some pressure off if I can plan for worst case senerio

That is a pretty dumb question. Not to be demeaning, but you have entirely the wrong mindset right now. Remember, whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right.

You've made it 4-6 years of schooling so far (depending on how long you were in undergrad for). You only have two years left. Do you really want to piss that away because you're worried you might fail out?

Stick to your guns, figure out why you're having such trouble in school, take the necessary steps to rectify things, and go from there. It makes no sense to quit after the time, money, and hard work you've put in to get this far.

Most of the people I know who dropped out or were "asked to leave" halfway through pharmacy school are now high school chemistry teachers. I also have one friend who went on to major in international business, but usually the transition that late in the game involves going into something chemistry-related.

If your university offers a graduate program in pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences, you could probably put some pharmacy school credits toward one of those degrees. The availability of such programs will obviously depend on your school though.

Hang in there, and have a positive attitude. I find that the less I stress for tests, the better I do on them. Don't plan for a worst-case scenario, plan to graduate on time!

But, if for some reason you do fail, could you repeat a year and just graduate a year behind? Some people in my school did that. I have one friend that failed out of pharmacy. He will be getting an undergrad degree in pharmaceutical sciences and will then be applying to grad schools. He is optimistic, and I think that he will succeed in whatever he plans to do in life.

Stick to it. I've been getting discouraged from time to time as well, but it's not really due to school - it's just trying to balance everything in life with school.

The sarcasm stems from the fact that there is no good answer to the OP's question. The worst case scenario is that he/she is going to fail, be discouraged about starting school all over again, have to fall back on whatever his previous degree is (hs, undergrad, ect), and get a job.

someone telling him to become a pornstar is no more insulting than you telling him to hang in, keep a positive attitude, and plan to graduate on time...You know no more about the OP than anyone else on here, so who knows..maybe he does have a better shot at being a pornstar than a pharmacist. Telling him to keep his head up insinuates that the OP is just being irrational and its prudent to plan for the "worst case scenario"- when actually it could be a very good idea.

Not sure why no one has mentioned this but uh, at most schools 3rd is a cakewalk compared to 2nd year. Therapy is basically the only real class we have.

Also, if your school is like most your final year should be mainly rotations, which are cake, even more so if you pick the easy ones. If you fail a class most schools won't kick you out without giving you an extra year to make it up. Talk to your advisor about this; the extra year route is your best contingency plan.
