Hey everyone,
I'm considering doing a clerkship at DVA Palo Alto. Besides whatever information CPME and CASPCRIPS puts out, I have no other information on this particular program. If someone on here has done a rotation at this DVA or has more info could you please share 🙂

Also, I'm from the midwest, I'm looking to do most of my clerkships in the midwest region. Is it worth traveling to the California for only one clerkship?

Thank you 🙂

My suggestion is to do externships at programs that are as different from each other as possible so that you can get exposed to as many different things as possible. I did rotate through DVA Palo Alto and as a student, you get to see a lot of patients and do a lot of clinic procedures including nail avulsions, injections, and wound care. They operate once a week and you rotate with other students to scrub in each week so if there are 5 students on the month of your rotation, you might scrub in only one day of the month. In general, it is a good rotation to get clinical experience.
