I e-mailed about a dozen schools on Sunday that I should be complete at to verify that they have everything and to check on the status of my app; so far, only 6 have replied. I thought e-mail would be a less demanding way to request information (rather than having them run and check right away when you call, they could do it at a point in the day when they have time), but it seems a lot of schools have just ignored my request for info. I feel like I'm being impatient, but one of the schools who responded intially had misplaced my letters and if I hadn't checked, they probably wouldn't have found them and put them in my file, and a couple of others said that they haven't downloaded the Aug MCAT yet which is good to know, so it seems worthwhile to check in with them. Is it appropriate to call schools to check on your status pre-interview? For those who have done this, what kind of responses have you received?

I know UCSD, Tufts and GWU are very good at respond emails (UCSD, GWU reply within 1 day, and Tufts does usually within 2 days) ... don't even try to email UCI -- they won't reply ... you should call finch and mssm .... I don't think they are good at responding emails .... when you call, I think most of the time, the staffs are very nice to help you ...

I would call them when I do not hear anything from them for at least 2 months
