Hey guys, so I know I've asked different variations of this question before, but considering my situation changed, I figured I'd reevaluate the situation.

So, I ended up rescheduling my DAT for the end of this month (July). I have my shadowing completed, my LoR's are in and uploaded to AADSAS. AADSAS has all of my transcripts as well. I would just have to edit my personal statement and disadvantaged essay and fill out my EC's for my application to be complete.

So my questions is this: Should I e-submit my application so that I can get the ball rolling in terms of GPA verification? I know it's starting to become a longer and longer process. I also know that FAP decision takes 10 days so I figure I could get that knocked out while I study for the DAT. Hopefully, if the DAT goes well I would call the schools and ask if I could fax or email them my unofficial scores directly since DAT uploading is taking other people quite some time.

Would submitting my application now be of any benefit or would it not make a difference?

Anything helps! Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you already know the answer! I would definitely e-submit if I were in your shoes. That way, you'll at least be further along in terms of GPA verification and FAP processing. Some schools also accept unofficial score reports (like you said) while the official ones are in the process of being uploaded. They can start considering you for an interview but just wouldn't extend one until they have your official scores. Also, if your FAP processing is completed earlier, it'll make doing your secondary apps much quicker since you won't be waiting as long on the processing time. Good luck!! 🙂

Yea I'd submit now since it does take a while for your GPA to be verified.

submit asap. i would not call the schools to fax your scores, they will only consider official scores and it will do nothing in terms of completing your app for review.

Thanks for the responses guys 🙂. This is what I figured. I'm actually just sort of nervous even filling out the application lol. I feel like I'm going to make a mistake, or not enter my details in properly.

How did you guys format your EC's and other parts of your application? Just sentences or were they bullet points?

Thanks again!

sentences. this is your application to professional school.

Some applicants have said sentences and some have said bullet points. I actually asked a few schools a while back when I called them to ask about other info (mostly about being an international applicant), the few I spoke to said it doesn't matter... up to the applicant's discretion as long as all the content is clear. Most people seem to recommend sentences. Good luck 🙂

Thanks again! I think I'll go with sentences! Definitely looks more professional as jsptr said. I'll make sure to use strong words to make it as direct and clear as possible!

for each entry i tried to say something about what the event was, what i did, what i learned/gained from the experience, and maybe something interesting you saw or got to do. at one of the clinics i volunteer with i assisted the dentist during a full-mouth extraction and i included that in my description.

It's so hard to condense the activities down though 🙁
