I apologize to everyone if this is not the proper place to raise this question, but here goes. I received my EAD just today and it is only valid for one year. I am a spouse of a resident and wish to work in the US. Can someone tell me if one year is a standard period of issue? I called the USCIS but they cannot tell me - go figure.

Can anyone tell me if they received one? or their spouse? or for that matter direct me to the right location to pose this question?
