Hello all

I am planning on starting dental school in 2015. I am a junior and I took my DAT this summer. I want to apply very early in June of 2014 and was wondering when I can start working on my application? I have researched it and can't seem to find what I am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can create an account now and review the information it asks for but unfortunately you can not start inputting information until AADSAS opens up the first week of June next summer. If you input information earlier it will only be saved if you pay the AADSAS processing fees.

I was in the same position as you for this current cycle and it definitely is frustrating that you can't input any info into AADSAS until it opens on the first business day of June. Even more frustrating is that you cannot order transcripts until the new cycle opens because you need to attach a "transcript request form" with your transcripts that is provided on AADSAS. What you can do however is "get all your ducks in a row" from now until then......What I mean by that is :

1) collect your LOR's (maybe your school has a health professions office that can hold them for you until you are ready to submit them)

2) Work on your Personal Statement - It may take a few weeks/months to perfect anyways.

3) Create a file compiling each class you have taken, when, and the grade you earned

4) Keep a file with a list of your extra curriculars, employment history, leadership positions, and dental experience (i.e. shadowing, assisting, etc...) containing appropriate dates, contact info, and hours spent at each.

If you do all of these things early you can essentially copy and paste them into the actual AADSAS application once it opens and save yourself plenty of time.

Calm down, It doesn't really matter whether you submit on aadsas' opening day or 1-2 weeks from that day because first batch is not sent out until the end of JUNE! You have plenty of times to polish things up. Just get your LORs, ECs, PS and DAT ready.

That's actually a very good point and completely true - but still nice to have everything lined up and ready to go early so you can just relax and not worry as much about your application in June.
