Just wondering what current medical students thought about curriculum and how it reflects Step 1 preparation. It seems to me that most Step 1 material is organized in a block format (biochem, path, pharm). So would such a curriculum aid in step 1 prep? Ive heard people mention using step 1 material as review during the class (using biochem book while taking biochem class). This type of approach seems impossible with a systems based curriculum. Any opinions?

Our school's first year is block based (basic sciences), and our second year is systems based (organ based). This correlates pretty well to the corresponding sections in review books such as First Aid and pathoma.

I think most schools have it systems based. Either way I don't think it matters much.

Mine was the same way and thought it was a good set-up, but in the end it probably doesn't make much of a difference.
