Agreed, I got accepted to UCSF with a 2.9 cumulative, 2.8 science GPA after having shadowed a few pharmacists. Even today, I still wonder how I got in sometimes. 😕

It's a mystery isn't it?

woww. you must have had really good letters of rec and amazing essays.

Is it easy to get into Loma Linda? I heard a lot of people with 3.3 gpa get in

From easiest to hardest in terms of admissions I would put them in these groups....

-Touro (3.3 GPA avg)/California Northstate (3.2 GPA average)
-UOP (putting this higher than the next two because they seem to accept a lot of people early in the cycle though in the end it probably evens out) (~3.4 GPA average)
-Western and Loma Linda (~3.4 GPA averages)
-USC (3.5 average GPA)
-UCSD (3.7 average GPA)/UCSF (3.6 GPA average)

Of course there is more to it than GPA...but a good GPA really opens the doors.

In terms of Loma Linda--it is a small school and they really take their time with the admission process.. They may only interview 1-3 people/day. They really want people who are open to the Adventist community as well and appreciate the small school..they interview 200/600 for a class size of ~85.

All schools in CA have gotten a lot easier to get into now ,a lot easier, those averages provided above are a lot lower !

If you're looking for an easy pharmacy school, you shouldn't be applying to pharm school... that's my two cents.
