Easiest School to Get in

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No offense to students of these schools but I would have to say,

BU and NYU. I didnt apply to Temple but seems like it would be up there too.

While there are no "easy" schools to get into, I would start with the schools where you are a resident. After that, I would consider private schools with high tuition second. I agree with NYU and Boston as choices. They are not EASY, but you have a great shot with your stats. You won't have to worry. Just apply early and keep on top of things. Good luck! :luck:

To OP:

If your stats, you should worry about not getting accepted in some competitive schools. Along with some easier entry schools, you should also pick some of the competitive schools which you prefer to get into. Afterwards, you can decide which ones you would best spend at least 4 years in and then go from there.

NYU is one of the easier privates to get into. They are trying to change that and it will get harder and is getting harder, but in the end it should be one of the easier ones due to tution and class size. Those two factors turn away a lot of people. The total acceptance rate is around 35% (total acceptance letters/ total applied).

There are some people there with amazing numbers and others...hell I have no idea how they got in. But some people really do turn around. I have a friend that entered with a 2.9 science GPA and 17 DAT and is kick'n butt!

edit: My brother is also at NYU, so any question let me know and I will ask him

You have listed BU as one of the "easier" private schools--and I have read this in other posts as well. What about Tufts? Is it also in this category? I have stats similar to the OP and was wondering the same thing about what private schools would be best. Does anyone know how Tufts fits in this category?

sung,

Like the guy from case 2008 said, with those #'s, and assuming you can handle yourself in an interview, you will have no problem getting in. Easy is a tough question as adcoms can be hard to understand.

as many can attest to, you could get into some schools that surprise you and be turned down by others. as mentioned, temple, nyu, tufts, and others accept a lot of students but they also receive a lot of apps; for the same reason...

you wont have any problems, and your #'s would easily get you into arizona. Goodluck

I don't know about "easy" schools to get into. I think that having higher than average scores will give you an edge above most of the other applicants regardless of the school. It just depends on what that particular school is looking for; i.e. some look for volunteering, research, high GPA, etc...
Now, most applicants use Tufts, BU, Temple, and NYU as back ups, because of the high cost in tuition and the fact that they enroll a larger class size. Since it is a backup then most end up going elsewhere, leaving those aforementioned schools open to much less qualified students. So if that is why it is an easier school to get into than so be it, but regardless, I think, as many have already mentioned, once you are in it is a lot of work. I know some people that have gotten into Temple and BU, but not Tufts, and likewise, some that have gotten into Tufts and not Temple. You never know.

Thank you so much guys
I appreciate...

mwsung. I thought you already applied and got accepted to Harvard Dental? [I recollect from canadian pre-dental forum.] Where you going next year?

Yeah and if you are real lucky you can goto Meharry or Howard. Equal-Oppurtunity........Yeah Right!!

Hi Gavin........

I got accepted to couple schools this year with a higher GPA than the current one, but I decided to go next year.

Why? Don't ask. It's personal. =)

I'm not sure I understand. You got accepted to a bunch of schools this year, but you're not going to go this coming september. Instead, you're reapplying to be a member of a class of 2009 to have this year off 😀 (or another year of undergrad)? Is that it?

YEAR OFF!!

ISN'T THAT GREAT?

My parents say I am just crazy and stupid, but wut the heck, I don't care.

I will enjoy my life while I can.

plus, I am working on a project which will be published so I finish my undergrad with two publications!

I must have stepped in something, bec there is a weird smell in here...

How hard is it to get into Tufts if you are from Boston and have decent stats? Somebody I met mentioned it's not too hard to get in from Boston. 😕

Some schools let you defer acceptances to the following year if you give them an adequate reason. If you can still try that...I would do that rather than pay all that money and go through the application process again.

Tufts doesnt care where your from. you can be from boston, or you can be from bombay. It doesnt matter.

There are usually no preference on whether you are a resident or non-resident for PRIVATE schools (such as Tufts). Generally public schools will offer this type of benefit.

To see which schools are private or public, you can check out this site:
