Does anyone have advice on which pre-req. to start with? Have been out of school for a while and would only be able to take one-two classes while working. Want to ease into it...feel a bit intimidated by the Calculus and Chem. Courses. Was thinking to start with Anatomy?
Also, how does one know which classes coordinate with the pre-reqs. required from specific OD schools? Class course numbers are different...

Thanks!

Usually i'd start with bio even before you go into anatomy. But the basic science courses like general chem, physics, biology would be the most important basic courses to start off with. Those courses will also help a lot with OAT. (But dont take those classes at the same time. all 3 at the same time would be too tough.) Also, if you're unsure about which courses correlate to each optometry school, you should email them to make sure if it'll fulfill their prereqs before you sign up for the class. I did that for one class, and they seemed pretty open about it.

GL!

Thanks for the advice broncos24. I'll def. be making some calls to the OD schools to make sure the classes fit!

I also would start with general biology or with general chemistry. Those two classes would be the best to start with.

Sounds good Oogilily. Thanks alot!

I agree because you will find that these courses will be pre-req for a lot of the other Optometry school pre-reqs.
