I was wondering if there is much discrepancy between the East coast schools and the West coast? Or is it like I think and really just based on the individual quality of schools?

My question stems from the WICHE program for the Western states.

That's an excellent question Seci. I'll ask some friends or I hope someone can post some info on this.

In terms of the overall quality of the education you'll receive, no, there isn't a significant difference. The biggest difference in your educational experience will come from the types of courses the school you attend offers. Smaller schools will not be able to offer the same breadth of courses (simply due to fewer professors). But the material you learn should be nearly the same everywhere.

East, West, anywhere in between: they all have good schools.
Look by individual school and how it fits you, not by region.

agreed, it's what you think. It's not a rivalry, you can find very good, reputable programs throughout the states. So much of it has to do with your specific interests and motivation.
