Eastern Washington University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Their APTA page says we should be notified of acceptance or alternate status January 17. Previous years have been between late January and early February though. Hopefully we hear back soon!

Yes! We have quite the wait. Same with UW, they won’t say anything until mid-Feb.
UW's email told me late Jan-Early Feb. Some of the students I talked to last year found out Jan 31st. I still think it's kind of late unfortunately.. :/

Congrats guys! I got straight up rejected lol doesn’t look good for UW but who knows

Congratulations!! I was just waitlisted. Do you plan on attending?
I really have to weigh out the pro's and cons. I'm extremely torn between EWU and the Utah schools, absolutely no idea with what the right decision is. Would you go if taken off the waitlist?

There should be another wave of acceptances after 1/26 (deposit deadline), so don't lose hope if you're on the waitlist!

Yes! I live two hours away and EWU is my alma mater!
Are you a Washington resident? It’s one of the cheapest in the country if you can get in state!

I hope you get in! I'm from California, but even the out-of-state tuition is 40k less than the other schools I've been accepted into. How do you like Spokane?

After weighing out pro's and con's, I just turned down my acceptance. It made more sense for my boyfriend and I to pick another school. I hope this frees up space for one of you!

The three of us appreciate that! 🤣 are you going to Rocky Mountain then?

Hi!

Do you mind sharing your stats that got you into EWU? If not, no worries.
No problem!

So this was actually my second time applying there. I was waitlisted last year, but never made it off the waitlist. I wrote an essay on how I improved my application this last year, so they could have also used that as a factor. Regardless, stats are:

GPA: 3.69-3.75?? (not sure how to calculate for each school)
GRE: 154 v 152 q 4.0w
Observation hours: ~1000 1 outpatient ortho, 1 sports, and 1 hippotherapy ranch
LOR: 2 PTs, 1 Prof (anatomy)
EC: strength coach intern, shadowed Home health PTA, animal shelter volunteer, beach clean up, Kinesiotape certifications, Pilates Rehab certification

Also never underestimate your essay. I spent more time on my essays this year, and I think it made a huge difference. I dug deep and spoke of being a first generation citizen, first college graduate, how I respect diversity in PT, etc. I truly think schools cared more about my essays this year, instead of my stats

Little late on this one, but I was accepted 1/11 and declined admission so hopefully that helped you all out!
