easy dent school to get in?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are schools that take students with lower GPA and DAT.

But everyone picks those schools for their back up so the number of applications in those schools are very high (or even higher) so it's hard to say that they are easy.

can u name those back up schools for me? thank you so much!!

.well it depends on your race.. no offense.. but if you are black or Hispanic.. . ...you should apply to Meharry or Howard . ..their requirements are close to none compared to any other dental schools in the U.S.(their DAT avg are like 15 to 17 and gpa is like 2.99 or something) . but if you are asian, White, or anything else.. i think it would be impossible to get in anywhere w/ those gpa unless u get a master degree and do well.. .. . i know a couple ppl that had to do that b/4 getting accepted.

My GPA is around there, but I think it also depends on the last few years. For example, my grades were not so hot my first few years and are very high now, my last two years (above 3.5). Some schools do understand that and will consider the drastic change. So if you're in that boat and you do very well on the DAT, and apply early you may have a good shot.

First off, there aren't any easy dental schools to get into. Secondly, I had a lower GPA than you did ( sGPA 3.01), and I got in because I nailed the DAT, that's what you need to do. GPA and DAT balance each other out, and all a lower GPA needs is a higher than average DAT.

Also, Howard is actually a really great school, and I would have been happy to go there if it was the only school that accepted me. It's actually about just under half Asian, with a number of other races as well. And while their GPA and DAT's are lower than the averages for other schools, they look a lot more at the total package - so don't think it's easy to get in.

Good luck!

Vicviper, if you don't mind me asking. How did you do on your DAT?

my science gpa = 3.14
overall gpa = 3.15
didn't take DAT yet.

can you guys suggest me easy dent school to get in? at least 5? PLEASE? thank you!!!!!!!😍
Which state are you from? Your state schools are probably your best bet, since most of them give preference to residents.

Well, your GPA is on the low end, so no schools are going to be easy to get into. Actually, even if your scores were high, no schools are easy to get into lol.

at least 5 schools? Well, Western and Midwestern are new schools and not as established, so for now they have lower admitted student stats. NYU, USC, Tufts, BU, and Temple have huge class sizes to give you the best shot. Howard accepts a handful of Asians every year. If you get a 22+ DAT, you'd have a good shot at UoP. Those are probably your best shots. Though if you don't get in this cycle due to low GPA, apply for a Masters program with a 3.8-4.0 and reapply. Good luck.

They enrolled a grand total of zero out of state/province people last year. Also, Howard was about 40% Asian Last year, so they do take a number, but they're looking for things other than grades and scores.

Howard was 63% URM, says so on their website. So how could they possibly have had 40% asian?

2008 ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools states that there were 86 members of the previous entering class, and 31 of them were Asian, so I guessed 40%, but in fact its only 36%, haha, I hope you can forgive me. hehe ;p

You are hereby forgiven 😀

So that makess 63% blacks+latinos, 36% asians, and 1% everything else 😱

Yeah you'll be part of a rewarding sociological experiment!

OP, do a little research. You will find TONS of info regarding the exact question you asked. There are no easy schools to get into

I was interviewed by two white guys at Howard, one student and one alum, and I did see a number of students too. I actually really liked Howard.

If you like it so much, why don't you marrryyy it?

:hijacked:

off topic: Is that barron's guide helpful? I was wondering if i should get one of those.

Hey guys,
I am just wondering if Howard accepts international students?
