Hey y'all,

Thought I should get this going. We all probs heard last years boards were not representative of study material somehow and were testing very nuanced things and a lot of math

Any insight into how this years boards might be? Similar or do they plan to change?

Is Klein and Mayo still the main study material everyone is following?

Good luck everyone!

Klein and Mayo is the best IMO. I passed it last year no problems. I seen some people saying read guiltiness and all that, that's a waste of time. Klein was probably most similar to the complexity and questions. Physics was very straight forward.

Agree with above. Also took it last year and passed comfortably.

Klein hemodynamics section is probably the most important/high yield for the exam (also get used to using the on screen calculator when doing calculations instead of your phone). Mayo is good (I found the prosthetic valve section to be the best) but boring and made me lose focus/sleep quickly.

Would review the two packets for ACHD and physics that are floating around but these were much more straightforward than I was expecting. The ASE practice qs/explanations are also pretty good if you're willing to shell out an additional $300.

When people refer to the Mayo videos, do you mean the echo section in the general boards review at mayo or the ASE echo boards review videos? Just asking as many of the mayo instructors also do the ASE echo boards review videos.

There is a separate mayo review course for the echo boards

Anyone did the practice ASE exam yet. I did the first one and scored 60% , this is after Klein and mayo video 1 time. I am a little stressed now as alot of stuff on the questions was not in the course material. Anyone willing to share what they are doing?

Mainly Klein, Mayo, Edelman physics, and congenital handout. I did the ASE exams, found them challenging, ended up with score in the low 70s both times.

Can anyone share ASE videos if they have access? Our program mandates us to do mayo course and after the ASE practise exam I feel the ASE videos might be higher yield.

Not sure what the passing score.. Anyone know?

Can you use keyboard numbers for onscreen calculator or I have to click every time on the number on screen? I feel keyboard will be faster if it works.

What helped you the most in the exam? ASE questions or Klein? I haven't done ASE but Klein I did 1.5 times. I wanted to involve more questions with ASE questions/exam but I'm not sure how it will help me in exam.

prometric centers provide you with actual calculators too so you dont have to use the onscreen calculator.

My Klein question videos are not playing. Any suggestions on other resources to practice the stress tests videos

As far as I remember I wasn't able to use the keyboard numbers (I'm 99% sure I tried and failed using the keyboard) on the calculator and had to click every time. Not every Prometric center gives you access to an external calculator (one of my co-fellows who took their exam at a different center than me also had to use the on screen calculator).

Klein helped the most in terms of concepts but thought the ASE practice exams most resembled the style of questions on the real exam and felt their explanations were helpful.

the second ASE test seemed much tougher, just made 68%, i knw some ppl were scoring in the 70s, how did you do it. Not sure how much you need on ASE test to feel comfortable.
Any tips for the last 2 days guys

Are the Mayo videos still online somewhere or you all bought the course? Which course in particular, they have several board reviews offered. TIA

on the ASE exams I score 58% and 70%
And yesterday took the quiz also and out of 49 questions I got only 26 answers correct, I feel I shouldn’t take the echo board tomorrow, I’m afraid, any advice please

I know last year ppl who scored in the 60s on ase passed. If that helps

That is kind of reasurring but, what should be the ideal score in those ASE simulation tests? my cofellows are getting 9 - 10 quesions above me

How did it go guys?
felt like I was running out of time last few blocks. Realizing some of my mistakes. Some calculations didn't make sense.
Am I the only one who's feeling that way

Dude that was much rougher than anticipated

Def felt like I was running out of time but honestly it’s just some questions take me minutes while others take me seconds.

Thought I knew my math pretty well but they def threw very tricky weird way where my calculations also weren’t always working somehow

Feel very similar

Ya I wish there were more of those one liner questions. And my computer was also freezing and taking longer for videos to play

It was definitely challenging. I don't feel confident I passed. Although I did feel most of the calculations were straightforward. Hopefully there is a generous curve.

It was very difficult, first 3 blocks it was Ok, I do not think I got 15 answers wrong per block in the first 3 blocks, block number 4 was crazy I did not even know what they were asking, I was always short of time, did not have time to review, I do not know if I passed, I do not think so.

Very difficult test, I hope I can get 140 questions right, but I doubt it, I was always running out of time, did not have time to review.

Do they put experimental questions ?
Man the 4th block I was like what the hell is this and the 5th block I was tired.
I only felt certain degree of comfort with the first 3 blocks.

I feel the same, just thinking about my silly mistakes. And I score 58% and 70% on the ASE exams.
I feel bad.

Glad atleast you decided to give the test. I can't think about it anymore. I dont think there's much more I can do to prepare. There's always gonna be stuff you don't know or forget the day off or don't have enough time. Fingers crossed.

To some degree you’re right, I just think I should have study more. My co-fellows were having 9-10 questions above me on the ASE exam I hope I can still pass, on the other hands nobody seems to say exactly what is a minimum ASE online exam score, is it 55%, 60-65% or 70% plus

Hello friends! I have an exciting update for you all, and I hope it brings good news to everyone who studied hard for their Echo Boards- ASCeXAM. I contacted the boards, and they replied with the following:

The results are expected to be released by the end of this week, so be sure to check both your email inbox and spam folder for notifications. I received this message yesterday, so we have Thursday and Friday left. Personally, I think the results might be released today (Sept 12) or Friday (Sept 13), and in the worst-case scenario, they could be out on Monday (Sept 16) . They suggested checking our email inbox and spam folder. If needed, you may also call or email them for confirmation. All the best, everyone!

With Thursday nearly over, we are left with either Friday or Monday. The results will likely be released on Friday, and if not, they will almost certainly be out by Monday🙂

I only got an email to register for next year boards, but no results email.
This email to register for boards next year is giving me anxiety, like wtf

True! I haven’t received any email notifications about next year echo boards, even though I’ve subscribed to their email updates. However, I did see a new update on their website yesterday regarding next year's Echo boards notification. This suggests that some activity is happening on their end. We should receive the results either today or Monday, without a doubt. Good luck!

Did anyone else receive an email notification to register for next year’s ASCE exam when we are still expecting results today (or Monday)? I have not received any such notification, even though I have enabled email notifications. What’s going on? Hopefully, it is just a standard default email notification for those who received it.

I just called them, they said it was a general email sent to everyone. I told her not everyone got it. She said expect results next week. 🤷‍♂️
