Thank you for viewing this! If I am listed in my aacomas application as "economically/enviromentally disadvantaged" does that hurt my chances or do admissions committee/schools look down on that? Anyone with experience? is that the same thing as URM? Does this actually give an upper edge maybe?

Let me know I just want to know the purpose of this check box.
 
They don't look down on it lol, but you'd better be able to prove it for one, and that it had an effect on your life for two.

It won't give you a huge advantage, but if played correctly it can give you an advantage. If used incorrectly or erroneously, it can hurt you, quite a lot.
