ECU School of Dental Medicine Class of 2029 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Congrats to all those accepted! I was wondering if you guys have a date that you have to officially accept or decline your offer of admission? I am trying to determine when the second wave of acceptances will be released if there are any.

ADEA traffic rules are very specific
Applicant Response Periods. Allow an applicant who has been given a provisional or final acceptance between Dec. 15 and Jan. 31 the minimum response period of 30 days. For applicants accepted on or after Feb. 1, the minimum response period may be reduced to 15 days. The response period may be lifted after May 15, or two weeks before the beginning of the academic year, whichever comes first. If the candidate does not respond within the allotted notification time frame, the dental school may choose to withdraw the candidate from the entering class.

so, do you think this means they won't be considering applicants they interviewed prior to decision day who haven't heard anything?
they will consider everyone they haven't rejected...

Last year, I got an email five days after decision day saying my application was still under active review by the Admissions Committee, but no final decision had been made. This year, I haven’t heard anything yet. Has anyone who interviewed before decision day heard from ECU?

Part of me is thinking that if they are still sending out new interviews they are no longer considering the pre-december interview candidates and need more options which is SCARY

that's not how it works...

I interviewed before decisions day and haven't heard back from admissions yet as well. I would say we are still in the game until we get a rejection letter. As for sending letters of intent, I assume we can since D-Day has past but I'm unsure if it's too early to do so. Anyone have insights on this?

Those admitted on decision day have until January 13th to accept, but not all available seats were extended at that time. I was told the next round of offers will begin in early January, likely before the 13th. Hang tight if you're still waiting!

I was told by a student at ECU that they offered 50+ people and that there were around 100 people that they really liked. Wanted to get accepted to ECU for options, but looks like I will be deciding between my other schools. Good luck to everyone!

Anyone heard word from ECU? Last year I received notification that my application was still under review post-acceptance notification day, but this year I have not received anything thus far.

Haven't heard back yet either. Hopefully an update by the end of this month or early February!

An official facebook has been made. Looks like 18 people are in there so far (with 1 admin) , hopefully it will be more accurate #’s soon. It was created 2 days ago!

Does anyone know if ECU sent out an official waitlist email or another email saying they are going to review applications again?

Interviewed at ECU in September. My application is still active but I haven’t heard anything. Should I go ahead and start getting ready for the next cycle? I would like to retake the DAT if so, just need to know if I should get started studying. Help!!!

Hey! I'm on a similar boat. It wouldn't hurt to start getting ready for the next cycle as you are waiting. Especially if you are retaking the DAT. If you plan to submit your application early like June or July, I would start now to give yourself enough time (~3 months) to focus on the material and schedule the DAT. Remember that the ADA will be changing the DAT scoring model in March. So you will have to wait 2-3 weeks before knowing your score. Best of luck!

Anyone hear back yet? Facebook is at 36. I’m very tempted reach out, but wouldn’t know how to ask (or if it’s appropriate to) if they are sending out more acceptances

I would reach back out and show your interest in the school, etc. I don't think it will hurt. But they're going to send you the same bland garbage they'll send everyone "thanks for your interest, were rolling until our class gets filled, best, ecu sodm"

Haven't heard from admissions yet. Emailed and was told application is still active until I hear back otherwise.

Hi pre-dents!
Does anyone know if the class if full yet? I have not heard anything from them since my interview back in October.

Just rejected @ 11:50 AM. Cycle's over for me (cries)
Not offering individual advising this cycle due to limited staffing, 2 webinars on the 13th and 14th for potential reapplicants

Did they email you out of the blue or did you call them?

Got my rejection email today at the exact same time out of the blue. Getting ready for the next cycle. Best of luck to you!

Same boat! But on the bright side, I'm glad some of us had the opportunity to interview at ECU SoDM. I consider that a step closer to our goal! Goodluck everyone!

Is anyone's application still active? Meaning they haven't gotten a rejection yet?
