I have been accepted to ECU's program and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on pursuing a specialization program after dental school here. The school appears to be very centered on general dentistry so I guess the main things are:

(1) Will the school help me/guide me in the direction I need to go or will it hinder me focusing solely on narrowing my career path to that of a general dentist?

(2) Will ECU's status of being a new school and in the process of being accredited be a problem when applying to these programs?

Thanks.

ECU's mission is to create general dentist's to stay work in Rural North Carolina and help with the disparity of dentists. If you are looking to specialize I would say pursue another school that will set you up for specializing. Good luck and congrats!
