I can't believe that I get to post this question!! Thank you Hopefulvet21 for notifying everyone that Edinburgh was accepting late apps 😍
I did not apply to any US schools and was accepted to and content to attend St. George's University. However, I just got accepted to the 5 year program at Edinburgh

and wanted to hear what y'all had to say about my decision.
I have already convinced myself that I am going to become a Dick Vet, but I do want to hear from everyone. There is an obvious major difference between the two schools as Edinburgh is AVMA accredited. As much as I loved the idea of going to SGU, I admit that this was a concern, but certainly not a detractor since I was planning on attending. I should also mention that as of now (certainly subject to change), I am interested in doing an internship and possible residency.
Obviously, Edinburgh is an extra year and with that, makes it more expensive than SGU, by about 30k total with today's exchange rate and only taking into consideration tuition. As of now, I am paying out of pocket, so there is no interest to consider. I know there have been multiple discussions about going to the less expensive school, but these were between two AVMA accredited schools.
The other issue is that I most likely will not be able to come back to the US to work during breaks as I will be expected to do EMS and have two dogs. I could take them in the cabin from SGU, but not to/from Edinburgh, so unless i have an arrangement for someone to care for them during the summer in Scotland while i fly back to the US, this is not an option. Nothing is guaranteed with my job here, but if all were to go well while at SGU, i could have made enough to take care of all my living expenses by working breaks.
The opportunities at Edinburgh seem superior compared to SGU. And, they are not too far from completion of the absolutely amazing new vet school facilities
So, I will open the polls and let the opinions fly......
Thanks in advance for the help!
