Hi guys,

I am considering applying EDP to a MD school in my state. I want to know if in addition to applying EDP to a MD school I can apply through the DO application just regularly? I know you're not allowed to apply to more MD schools with an EDP, but what about DO?

Thanks

yes you can. they're separate application systems

To apply through the EDP, applicants must follow these guidelines:

  • Apply to only one U.S. medical school by the stated deadline date (August 1 for schools that participate in AMCAS);
  • Not to apply through the EDP if they have already submitted an initial or secondary application (AMCAS or non-AMCAS) to a U.S. medical school for the current entering class.
  • Attend only this school if offered a place under the EDP.
The bolded material strongly suggests that DO schools would also be affected.

You "can," but you shouldn't.

As Doug stated above, it's clearly strongly emphasized you're not to apply elsewhere.
