Its a great website. It tells you the number of interviews versus the number of acceptances given out (MSAR only tells you the number marticulated not accepted). However the data is from 2007 and I am not sure what the source is. Does anyone know of a website where I can get more recent information?

I've heard that if you actually purchase the US News & World Report subscription you can get more recent info. That's just what I've heard though.
 
The site is like a wall of text with spam ads thrown in. Where's the # of interviews vs # of acceptances info you're talking about?

Data from 2007 should still be fairly accurate though.

Type eduers.com into google. Then, under the first link, click on Medical Schools.
 
yeah i looked at the site. 2007 is definitely information a little too old. 2 years is a big diff in the process.

wish i cud see 2009's data.
 
2 years is not a singificant difference in the process.
 
I dont know about you, but many schools had a 0.1 increase in median gpa in 2009.

And the school I was looking at went from a ~15% post intervew matriculation to a 9% post interview matriculation. (international students).

Not really...

If they interview 30 internationals, that means going from 4.5 acceptances to 2.7. Unless they have strict "well we're only going to accept 9% of foreign interviewees this year type policies, chances are that just reflected the applicants and how their interviews went.

I also wouldn't make any drastic conlucsions about a .1 increase in median GPA over the span of a year. If you're trying to look at trends, you're not gonna get any meaningful validity from a 1998-1999 transition.

Not really...

It was 60+ interviewed to 100+ interviewed recently.
18% accepted vs 9% matriculation

Would love to see the acceptance %.

However, it is definitely true that it gets more competitive each year, whether it is in the form of "inflated" grades or not.

Median GPA has on average gone up for most schools within the past 5 years.
Hence, 3 years is a big difference.
 
However, really, it doesnt matter at all since everything is done and dry.

Its just the paranoia setting in, the desire to come up with some mathematics regarding my chances... you know.. the regular nerdy thing...
