I need some honest opinions on where I stand. I was arrested twice during the first semester of my freshman year. The first time was for alcohol, and the second time was for alcohol and marijuana possession. I was never convicted/pled guilty to either offense, but I was on disciplinary probation for my school. I want you all to tell me if I will be able to get into any of these schools. I got a 36M on my MCAT (V11, P13, B12) a 3.5cgpa and a 3.4sgpa. In addition, I have a decent amount of clinical shadowing, some minor community service, and a large amount of research (honors thesis, years of independent research, and a first-author publication coming soon). I haven't had any issues with discipline since that first semester and I have finished strongly as far as grades go. I am applying to:

MCW, Uwisc, Uchig, Loyola, IU (instate), SLU, Upenn, Drexel, Jefferson, Gtown, GWU, and Mayo

Any thoughts?

Not enough schools, especially with this "wild card" disciplinary action...nobody can tell you how this affects your chances...you need to maximize your chances by applying to as many schools as possible...

You need to apply to a lot more schools. Your GPA isn't stellar, though your MCAT is great, and you need to apply to a lot of schools just for that reason.

With the wild card, you should be applying to many, many, more schools. E.g, add 20+ schools.

Ask yourself this...Does anyone want Dr. drunk and stoned-a-lot to treat their illnesses; because Adcom's will be asking themselves this.

Got to put a real perspective on this. It does look bad. But, with your stats...if you get an invite, you may be able to explain.

IDK, hard to predict...but at face value it doesn't look to good.

i think it will for sure be a hurdle, but i would like to think that everyone makes mistakes, and that your current personality/intelligence/character cannot be determined by events that took place freshmen year. if you can get passed the first couple stages and receive some interviews, i would just have one hell of a convincing statement as of why you did what you did, how it effected you and so on...and be able to turn that negative experience into a positive one.
