Haven't heard anyone mention EHV? Has anyone came up with some guidelines to preventing the spread? Should we not be traveling to shows?

It seems that the outbreak is under control and the number of infected horses is remaining steady, at least based on the most recent numbers released.

I am located in the Midwest and compete in eventing, I have an event next weekend and am not worried about coming across this virus. I will be monitoring my horse more closely though and be taking her temperature daily during and for a week after the event.

The outbreak seems to be isolated to NCHA show horses.

People in Oregon are fa-reaking out.

The VTH at WSU has it and the senior students on equ rotations are peeved since the quarantine is really messing with the average case load.

Things seem to be under control and sanitizing/monitoring appears to be vigilant and constant.

I dont know if its EHV related or not, but the "World of Horses" parade and show at Belmont racetrack has been cancelled. All I know at this point is that it is "due to a very contagious virus outbreak in the area." Can't seem to find an actual press release on it, just word of mouth from someone involved with the planning committee.
Reallyyy hoping this won't affect the running of the stakes....
