hello fellow EKers,

Question goes...structures below are 1,3,5-cyclohexatriene. Although double bonds are shorter than single bonds...etc.

The answer says "the positions of the atoms are different in the two structures." (See attachment)

Looks just like a 180' rotation to me...how are the positions of the atoms different? or by position does it mean the 'exact location on paper as depicted'

Are they talking about a possible resonance between the two structures? What is full question?

I guess they mean that the C atoms are depicted in the same position.
 
This was such a stupid question. Yes, the question exists to remind you that resonance structures can't move or rearrange atoms, even a little.

Whatever. I doubt the mcat would ever be that pedantic.
