I am a 3rd year medical student interested in becoming an orthopaedic surgeon. I have an elective coming up soon and have to decide on doing it at a prestigious institution (Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC) or doing it at a site where I probably have a better chance of matching at. I have heard that it is better to rotate through hospitals where you would want to match at but if I went to HSS and was able to make some connections that might be as valuable, if not more valuable. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.
