Hello dear members,

As I am International medical student (no visa problem), What is better for me...Clinical research at Johns Hopkins (no patient contact) with full professor in Pulmonary Medicine or Clinical electives in Internal Medicine fields including Cardiology (My dream) at Emory or UAB Alabama (The instructor with whom I will rotate are normal instructors & assistant professors).

Research period is 2 months...Elective period 2 months

Please tell me what I have to choose...Research electives at Johns Hopkins or Clinical electives at Emory/UAB ?

Merry Christmass & Happy new year

Thank you for reply....wish you merry christmas

The key is duration. If you can get solid research for a period of 6 months or more, go for it. Electives usually aren't longer than 2-3 months. PDs know FMGs do research only to beef up their CVs, but if it's a years research, it shows you are passionate about the field.
