should we konw the electronegativities of some common atoms for the test

H, N, O, F, C

or should we just know the basic trends.

I would focus on trends of periodic table and know this mneumonic.

FONClBrISCH (I pronounce it Fon Coal Brisk)

This will tell you electronegativity from most negative to least.

F > O > N > Cl > Br > I > S > C > H
