Elusive ?MD=doctoral, ?? ?or like Optional-seeming AMCAS sections

1) is MD a doctoral degree or a post doctoral degree? 😕
2) Do we have to do a ethnic / racial self description on the amcas..or is it ok to leave it blank.. 😱
I know it will still let me submit it next week but will I get looked down on / not considered b/c I didn?t disclose my ethnicity?

I wonder if we absolutely have to fill out the parental occupation thing... I don't want adcoms to jump to false conclusions about me because of what my parents do...

I believe the MD/PhD/D.Sci is your highest level of education. Residencies and post-docs are more on-the-job training and not education in the formal/didactic/whatever sense.

But post doctoral is a selectable option for highest education level on AMCAS. I believe we're debating what we should put in AMCAS, not semantics in general.

amcas confirmed via email a practing doctor ( post res & post fellowship) or an MD/DM comb degree IS a POST DOCTORAL

ps: im like seriously impressed how fast they email back..i picture a room full of computers ....and angry retired adcoms typing away to our seemingly petty questions ..hmm..hmm

HAHA I don't care anymore, I don't think it's gonna be a big deal to not include race. Maybe some of the schools I apply to will have an ethnically-challanged adcom reviewing my app. I mean, they can't cite me on that! Wouldn't it be racist if they did??
