After exhaustive searches everywhere, I cannot, for the life of me, find averages for COMLEX scores and specific specialties.

From all of your experience, what would you say an "average" COMLEX score is for a successful EM Match?

I understand that many factors go into the application process, etc., but it would still be nice to see how I (and others) measure up on this one factor.

I can't speak for nationwide averages, but we had many DO's in my program. Those who successfully matched not only had good COMLEX scores, but also and more importantly were strong overall applicants who either had excellent letters of recommendations (SLORS) or performed very well during an elective rotation. Boards scores are important, but definitely not everything. To answer your question most applicants I saw had COMLEX I scores of 550-650. In that range. Don't count yourself out if your scores are lower than this. Work hard and nail your elective rotation. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

I agree with those scores. I was in the low 600's and got my number one choice. I also took the usmle so I don't know if that helped me or not? Like what was said above, they look at everything not just board scores. Everyone I knew applying to EM had good scores, it was other things in our apps that made us stand out.
