Hey All
I have been in contact with the internal medicine chiefs at one of our residency's hospital sites. They are interested in doing some combined conferences. I was wondering if any of you would like to contribute a list of topics. Also, if you know of any great speakers, especially any in Chicago or willing to come out to Chicago please PM me.
So far for thoughts of topics
1. Sepsis- I figure a talk on new biomarkers, anytopic that expands on early goal directed treatment, etc.
2. Hypertensive Urgency/Emergency
3. The Approach to the "Weak/Dizzy patient"
4. Abdominal Pain in the Elderly- this would probably be nice to get our surgery residents to come to as well.
5. Cardiac Arrest-current recommendations for resuscitation and post resus management.
6. GI bleeders- disposition and current treatment
7. ABG vs VBG- interpretation and indications for use. ( I feel that we overuse the ABG because we are comfortable with interpreting it's values over the VBG)
