Did anyone else get an email from Edinburgh today asking to have transcripts sent if they haven't been sent already? I sent mine in long ago but I'm not sure if this email is specific to me or something that was sent to all VMCAS applicants.

I got it too. Yeah at first I thought they didn't get my transcripts, which is weird because I was already told they did. But the follow-up email just said it was a general reminder.

Thanks - yes I got the followup email too. I guess they had lots of panicked replies!

I'm still worried though because I've heard of transcripts getting lost from the U.S.

Wouldn't hurt just to call and check up on it. Everyone in the admissions office is really friendly. Mass email is just a friendly way of saying, 'hey if you didn't send us transcripts make sure you do before we have to go through this huge stack of papers and start emailing all of them about missing items.' That's my take anyways. I called for someone since his phone doesn't let him make international calls and they hadn't gotten a transcript, so it is possible for mail to get lost on its transatlantic journey. Good luck!

I did not get that email. I know that they did receive my transcripts because I double checked with them a few weeks ago. Glasgow, however, has not received them yet which angers me because I sent them over a month ago! Grr now I have to pay for extra copies and resend them.

The e-mails today were the second time I've gotten such a reminder e-mail... it was probably people like me that caused her to send out the second one today because I e-mailed her back asking if it was possible to verify the receipt of my transcripts, but she didn't respond. I e-mailed her a few weeks ago asking the same thing and didn't get a response then either. So yes, I get that it was a blanket reminder for everyone, but I would just love to know that they got the transcripts! Perhaps calling is in order, or perhaps I need to take a chill pill and trust that they will let me know if something is missing?

To be honest, I'm not even sure how to call internationally😳. Might need to figure that out if I am serious about moving to Scotland!

You should definitely call them to check instead of e-mail.

When you dial out of the country to an Edinburgh LAN line, the number always starts 0131 followed by the rest of the number. Dial +44131 and the rest of the digits.

Admissions office for the Royal Dick Tel: +44 131 651 7305

Some phone companies won't let you call out of the country like FinleyMonkey had said. So anticipate that if you have a block on your account for whatever reason you may not be able to dial outside of the US. Hopefully you have a friend's phone you can borrow that allows you to dial outside the US?

Good luck!

Last week I had sent an email asking them to confirm whether or not they had received my transcripts, and they replied stating that they had. I still received this mass email asking to send transcripts if not done so already. So don't worry, it wasn't directed to anyone personally. But it doesn't hurt to confirm that they do have your transcripts with them.

I think I will try to figure out the calling thing, but out of curiosity, who did you e-mail? Was it Victoria?

Thanks!

Yeah, email Victoria. She would also be the one answering if you called the admissions office, at least she was when I called. You can usually call your phone company and have them lift the international ban, or you might be even able to figure it out online. Keep in mind to remember the time difference when calling.
