I've been pretty mellow when it comes to MCG...don't know why.

Dig this, I just realized last night that I'll have a DMD next to my name, and a Dr. as my prefix. Couldn't fall asleep at allll.......
 
I missed the postman today, and recieved a certified notice for a large envelope. Does anyone know if both acceptance and rejection letters are certified? The anticipation is killing me!

Congratulations to all who received acceptance letters today!

When did you interview at MCG?
 
We still have 24 slots to fill for the final batch of 68 students, which we haven't decided on yet. It's extremely competitive this year. We sent out 32 acceptance letters yesterday, so maybe that will calm some of you guys down.

68? Thats more than usual. Are they accepting more under the assumption that some will attend elsewhere, or did they increase the class size a bit?

I suppose we should assume that you are on the admissions committee at MCG.

68 is the number of students that we have yet to make a final decision on.
 
Congratulations to all of you that have gotten into MCG!!! If you guys don't mind, could you post your stats, or PM them to me. I'm REALLY freaking out about MCG...I wanna go there so bad!!! I interviewed on Nov. 12, so I'm guessing that I won't hear from them for a while, but I just needed something to help me relax a bit and know that I'm in okay shape.

Pre-dentalguy just took the DAT in July. Bring up old posts and you'll see that this guy isn't in dental school. Why is he pretending to be on the committee?
 
Did you folks that got accepted get an email today about the extended admissions process and fall grades? I'm curious.
 
No e-mail. Maybe thats for people that they have yet to make a decision for.
 
I just got my acceptance packet today 🙂😀...I guess our mail is just really slow......interviewed on aug 27th
 
I got accepted today too, and I interviewed on August 27th!
 
So far 3 of us from this thread interviewed together.....I wonder how many more got in.
 
I never received any e-mail or letter last week, so I decided to call and see what was going on with my application. MK said that I should be expecting something in the mail and if I do not receive it soon, to call for the tracking number. No mail today! So, my question is, do alternates get certified mail or only acceptances? I'm nervous!

When was your interview at MCG? Mine was Nov. 12 and I haven't heard back from them yet, but it seems to me like only the people who interviewed in September or October are hearing back right now. I'm getting VERY anxious too! I hope we hear good news soon! :luck:
 
Mine was October 12th. My friend interviewed with me the same day though and he received his acceptance last week! Makes me even more nervous!
 
I got mine which was sent on 12/3. It was forwarded to me from my old address to my neighbor and he brought it to me. WTF.

What is up with collecting teeth?? I have never known about this until today.

Who else got scholarship from MCG?
 
when you say "scholarship" do you mean the packet that you can fill out and return to them?
 
Mine had a scholarship letter with the dollar amount specified along with financial aid and acceptance letters. Does your packet mention about the scholarship? If so, I am thinking we are talking about the same thing.

Sounds to me like you have a scholarship! I think everybody gets the form (letter) that they can fill out and apply for a scholarship, but if you had a letter stating a dollar amount that you will receive, then congrats!! I'm being nosey: How much was it? So we can all be jealous!
 
We have to collect 60 teeth! Wow! I hope the general dentist I shadowed won't mind? I'm pretty sure that they are aware that students have to do this sort of thing...or are they? Do other schools require the same?
 
Anyone know when the remainder of the acceptance letters will be mailed? As of Monday (12/10), nothing has been mailed since the first batch, according to MK.
 
I did! They gave me the tracking number and there is no record of it at all! Called the post office and they don't have it either! Must have gotten lost in the mail! I'm going to give it a couple more days until I call again. Either way, called today and was told my acceptance was mailed on the 8th!!! So excited! Can't wait to call the other schools and cancel my interviews once I finally get the packet!!! 😀

I don't think so. I briefly went over my acceptance letters from other schools but they don't seem to require anything like it.
 
I have a question for you guys that applied to MCG. A friend of mine who interviewed a couple weeks after me already received an acceptance letter, but I haven't heard back from them. I'm sure that I am probably just worrying for nothing, but does anyone know what could have been going on? I tried calling them today but no one answered.
Any suggestions? Should I call on Monday, or do you think I should just wait it out for a little while longer?

Only the acceptance letters are certified? Or rejections and waitlists too? I'm really sorry to ask so many dumb questions, but the anticipation for MCG is killing me! I'm sure you guys know how that feels haha:scared:
 
has anyone heard anything this week?? Or is it confirmed that only a "first batch" of acceptances has been mailed?
 
Toothgirl got her acceptance letter this week. So I'm pretty sure more went out.
 
I'm an alternate. More waiting...
 
If this makes you feel better... I heard of a couple of people who got accepted but won't be attending most likely....🙂
