To post on sdn:

Does anyone know any good embryology book that makes it simple to understand, yet is in good, adequate depth? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays!

I believe "Cheung's" makes a fairly thorough review series. I've used it for Anatomy and its pretty good. Unfortunately, I can't give you any more info b/c my books are in florida and I'm far, far away from there now. You should be able to find it with a name search though.

Get "interactive embryology" by Jay Lash PhD. It's a good cd-rom that covers everything you will need to know plus it's got animation that goes along with the text so you can actually see what's going on.

The Board Review Series text by Kyung Chung is for Anatomy only. Dr. Chung is actually my anatomy professor. His book was our bible in his class!

But to answer your question, I don't know of any good embryology texts. Sorry.

I used the Board Review Series Embryology book for some overview (but doesn't emphasize signalling chemicals, so wasn't sufficient for my course).

My course text was Langman's Medical Embryology & I thought it was a pretty good book.

Online.

Everything you can possibly want to learn about Embryology can be found in online resources.

I dont know what it is, but Embryology professors LOVE to make these elaborate websites with pictures, movies, and diagrams.

Do a web search of medical schools and their Embryology departments. I think you will be suprised.

Good luck.

Watch for the new edition of Langman's (9th), which will have Simbryo in CD form on the back of it.

BTW-if you check it out, let me know what you think of it (most of the early dev module is available on the web).
